Welcome to CPDP LatAm

Welcome to CPDP LatAm!

CPDP LatAm is the leading conference on data governance, privacy, and technology in Latin America. In 2026, the event will take place on August 12th and 13th, with the central theme: “Data Governance for Digital Sovereignty, Cooperation, and Interoperability”.  The conference will be followed by a satellite event dedicated to Artificial Intelligence Risks: Governance and Innovation organized in partnership with the Data & AI Governance Coalition of the UN Internet Governance Forum.

Our programme is composed of community-led panel proposals. The call for panels is open until May 10th – be sure to participate!

CPDP LatAm brings together experts from various sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities of data governance in Latin America and globally. The event includes the Latin American editions of the Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP), MyData, and Privacy Law Scholars Conference (PLSC), fostering a broad and multidisciplinary approach.

With a tripartite structure, the conference:

  • Encourages multisectoral debates, bringing together experts from governments, businesses, academia, and civil society.
  • Hosts the Latin American Meeting of MyData, dedicated to innovative approaches and technologies for data protection.
  • Welcomes the Latin American Privacy Law Scholars Conference, promoting discussions on ongoing academic research.

This is a unique space to exchange ideas, build solutions, and deepen dialogue on data protection, democracy, innovation, and regulation. The event program is built collaboratively, based on panel and academic paper proposals submitted by participants from various sectors and regions.

Join us to enrich this essential debate!

The CPDP LatAm community expresses its deep regret for the death of Professor Danilo Doneda this Sunday, Dec. 04, 2022.

Danilo was one of the founders of CPDP LatAm and leaves many colleagues, friends, students and companions, all saddened and honoured for having shared his immense generosity of spirit.

Danilo marked the trajectory of privacy and data protection in Brazil and Latin America, but also the lives of all the people who had the pleasure of working alongside him, learning under his guidance, laughing, and enjoying life with him.

He leaves a rich legacy for the field of data protection and will remain a fundamental pillar of CPDP LatAm. Danilo’s spirit will continue to be alive and carried forward by all of us.

Thank you, Danilo
